Program

Assignment Goals of all Franklin Ambassadors

  • To substantially increase the awareness of Benjamin Franklin's accomplishments and how such knowledge can improve the lives of large numbers of individuals in the host country.
     
  • To insure a smooth, Birthday Celebration with large numbers of high ranking attendees on January 17, 2006.
     
  • To enable a smooth, reliable webcast and archiving of important aspects of the January 17 Celebration.
     
  • To undertake at least one "high technology" experiment and exhibit during the time abroad
     
  • To gain the widest possible publicity by way of newspaper, magazine, radio and television.

Specific tasks.

  • To work closely and cooperatively with

the American Ambassador and all members of the United States Embassy
appropriate officers from within the host government
high ranking officers of the American Chamber of Commerce
high ranking officers of local service entities, particularly Rotary
leading members of the international (expatriate) business community
Ambassadors and key staff of all foreign embassies
leading members of the education community
leading members of the English language training community

  • Communications and Publicity

to remain, electronically, in close touch with Headquarters
to develop close relationships with appropriate media outlets
to issue local press releases

  • Other

To complete all assignments as are individually assigned during the physical training sessions in Eugene.
