The Ambassador Program
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) In a nutshell, what is the goal of the Ambassador Program? We believe large numbers of highly motivated, well trained Americans assigned abroad can have a huge impact on this Celebration -- and that their work while abroad will be of lifetime value to them and those with whom they partner. What kind of person are you looking for to go abroad? They will be highly motivated, tough, resiliant and outgoing. For more information, please visit the profile of the ambassador. Why would a corporation be interested in funding this undertaking? Our recruiting effort will reach about 40 leading colleges and tens of thousands of collegians, most of whom are either about to graduate or will have already graduated. If you are interested in reaching these kind of people, please visit the sponsor page. How much will it cost ME to become an Ambassador? The total cost of sending an Ambassador overseas for five months is approximately $20,000. This includes air fare, housing, meals and (in some cases) a modest stipend. Each Applicant is a "special case". For more information please visit the grants and sponsors pages. How do I know where I will be sent? In your Application you should indicate the city or the Region of your preference. We will work very hard to match the right person to the right destination. For a list of cities, please visit the Capitals page. Are there college credits available? Our Institute is NOT an accredited institution and we therefore do NOT issue "college credits". If you are presently enrolled in a university, it may be that your institution will grant you credits for your work abroad. We would be delighted to discuss this with you. Please write Ambassador College Credits for more about this important subject. Why would your Certificate be of value? Many thousands of quality employers value certificates which have a true underlying value. We can think of no other certificate offered by anyone, anywhere, that would be of more interest to innovative, upward-bound corporations than holders of our Ambassador Certificate. For more about this, you might wish to visit the John Hibbs Memo to Corporate Sponsors. Once more, what are the benefits of this Program? We encourage you to re-read the information on the benefits page. Who can I talk to on the phone about this program? Feel free to call the Director of the Ambassador Program, John Hibbs. The phone number is +1 (858) 731 0832. Or email him.
